Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These General Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles from Fanari Rent a Car. By signing or electronically accepting the rental agreement, the customer (Renter) acknowledges that they have read, understood and fully accepted these terms.

2. Driver Age and License Requirements

The renter and any additional driver must be at least 21 years old.
The maximum driver age is 70 years old.
The driver must hold a valid driving license for at least 2 years.
Additional accepted driving license types: EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Israel, Switzerland, non_eu_latin.
For driving licenses written in non-Latin characters, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
A valid passport or ID card is required at the time of pickup.

3. Reservations and Vehicle Categories

Reservations are made by vehicle category. A specific model is not guaranteed.
In case of unavailability, a similar vehicle of the same category will be provided.
If no vehicle is available in the same category, a free upgrade may be offered.

4. Rental Duration, Extension and Late Return

The minimum rental duration is 48 hours.
A 60-minute grace period applies after the agreed return time.
In case of late return, a full daily rental rate will be charged.
No refund is provided in case of early return.

5. Payment Methods

Accepted payment methods: Credit Card (online), Debit Card (online), Apple Pay, Cash on Pickup, Credit Card on Pickup, Debit Card on Pickup, Bank Transfer, Iris, Google Pay.

6. Insurance and Deposit

Standard Insurance is available.

7. Fuel Policy

Same to Same: The vehicle is delivered with a certain fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level.
In case the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the missing fuel amount will be charged based on the current local retail fuel price on the return date, plus a refueling fee of €50.
No refund is provided for extra fuel.

8. Mileage Policy

The rental includes unlimited mileage.

9. Additional Drivers and Extras

Additional drivers are allowed. All additional drivers must meet the same requirements and be registered in the rental agreement.
The first additional driver is provided free of charge.
Additional driver charge (after the first one): €5 per day.
Available car extras:
Baby Seat: €3/day (max. €50/booking)
Booster Seat: €3/day (max. €50/booking)
Infant Seat: €3/day (max. €50/booking)

10. Insurance Exclusions

Insurance coverage does NOT apply in the following cases:

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Unauthorized driver
Off-road driving
Wrong fuel usage
Loss of keys
Lockout from the vehicle
Interior damage
Roof or undercarriage damage
Unreported accident

11. Accidents, Damages and Traffic Fines

In case of an accident, the renter is required to inform the company immediately.
A police report is required in every accident case.
The renter is required to complete and keep the Accident Report Form (Friendly Statement) at the accident scene.
Taking photos at the accident scene is recommended and/or required.
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets and toll charges during the rental period.

12. Vehicle Usage Restrictions

The rented vehicle may only be used for lawful purposes on suitable public roads.
Only authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle.
Pets are not allowed inside the vehicle.

13. Delivery, Pickup and Out of Hours

Available delivery and pickup locations are displayed during the booking process.
Additional charges may apply for delivery/pickup in remote areas away from our base location.

14. Ferry Transport / Travel Restrictions

Transport or use of the vehicle outside the area/island is not allowed.

15. Cancellation, No-Show and Early Return

For cancellations 10 or more days before you are entitled to 100% full refund of the deposit or the total amount you have paid.
For cancellations from 9 up to and including 5 days before you are entitled to 50% refund of the paid amount. The remaining 50% of the amount is retained as a cancellation fee.
For cancellations in a period shorter than 5 days from the pick-up, as well as in cases of non-appearance no refund of money takes place.
In case the renter decides to return the vehicle earlier than the scheduled date and time written on the rental contract, no refund of money or compensation is provided for the days or hours that were not used. The total cost of the initial booking remains claimable and non-refundable.
16. Vehicle Return, Cleanliness and Inspection

The vehicle inspection upon return is carried out in the presence of a company representative.
The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.

17. Data Protection and Privacy

The company collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU 2016/679).
Personal data is used exclusively for rental purposes.
Data is shared with third parties only when required by law or by service providers for the operation of the rental service.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece.
